Suitable facilities in a good state of repair are crucial to the mission of LITTLE EDEN. Not only to enable staff to provide an exceptional level of care to our ‘angels’ – but because the environment in which they live and work has a significant impact on the morale of residents and staff.
We are extremely blessed to have received funding towards building upgrades from an anonymous international funder. Both homes will soon undergo much needed maintenance upgrades and renovations, including new centralised nursing/medical sections.
At Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale, we’ve also recently installed a unique Showerβath in Boitumelo wing, which is home to our adult residents. Staff are now able to assist these heavier men and women more easily, making ‘bath time’ more enjoyable for all. We would really love to install more of these Showerβaths. So if you have any suitable contacts, or would like to contribute towards this special project, please contact me.
Our wheelchair upgrade project has also been a resounding success, thanks to the generosity of friends like you. Having participated in the LITTLE EDEN CEO Wheelchair Campaign myself earlier this year, I can attest to the importance of being able to sit comfortably; for children who are unable to use their limbs or support their bodies, it is crucial! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the cost of customised cushions, back and head rests, foam wedges and covers.
At LITTLE EDEN we are mindful of the impact the economy is having on our donors. We know that times are tough for everyone, and that there are many calls on your generosity. We are so very grateful for your ongoing support. I invite you to visit our website to browse through the 2019 integrated annual report and see the impact of your support in the lives of our residents. Thank you!
