Thank you for giving Christmas joy

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without Father Christmas arriving at Elvira Rota Village on the tractor, ringing the bell to let the children know that he is approaching.

So, despite the Covid-19 restrictions, Santa had special visiting rights at both our Homes, bringing with him huge bags filled with brightly wrapped gifts for every resident.

You can imagine the squeals of excitement, the joy and laughter that he brought into our Homes. But he couldn’t have done it without generous help from our wonderful friends and supporters. Thank you to everyone who helped fill Santa’s bag.

Special thanks to Kaizer Chief’s Tracy Williams, who arranged delivery of a team T-shirt for Daniella, who is a massive fan. The T-shirt was top of her Christmas wish list and she cried tears of joy when she opened her gift.

The residents also enjoyed a special party with delicious eats sponsored by Mochachos Karaglen and O Peri Peri, as well as cupcakes, cool drink, ice cream and sweets donated by our many generous friends. We received a generous donation of boerwors from Prima Quality Beef and pies for everyone on Christmas Day, sponsored by De Backery.

Our dedicated staff, who went above and beyond the call of duty during this difficult year to keep the residents safe and happy, were also acknowledged. Grateful thanks to Mastrantonio for sponsoring delicious lunch for the staff, Supercare for sponsoring party packs and an anonymous sponsor who gave each staff member a care pack.

Of course, the caring doesn’t end with the end of the year. And all the indications are that we may have another tough year ahead of us before the Coronavirus pandemic is over. So please consider making LITTLE EDEN your favourite charity, and renew your support now if you possibly can.

We wish you a happy, healthy and blessed 2021. Thank you for caring about children and adults with profound intellectual disability.
