The Cause process for the founders of LITTLE EDEN Society reached an important milestone on 10 April 2021, with the Opening Session of the Inquiry for the Cause for Sainthood of the Servants of God, Domitilla and Danny Hyams at Christ the King Cathedral in Johannesburg.
Key features of the Opening Session were the presentation by the Postulator to the Archbishop of the Libellus (Letter of Petition), the Nihil Obstat (Letter of no objection) from the Holy See and letter of support from the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
This paved the way for the appointment of, and oath taking by, the officials of the Cause. The list of witnesses and other relevant documents were presented to the Archbishop. All this is done to fulfill the canonical requirement, which governs the process. Formal interviews with numerous witnesses will allow the Archbishop to make a formal submission to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints for their consideration.
