Mandela Day 2025

Little Eden celebrated Mandela Day on 18 July 2025 by opening up our doors to companies and the public who wanted to do their 67 minutes. Companies arrived with trucks full of needed good, while many made a donation. Some murals were painted outside with super heroes just one theme, while flowers and vegetables were also planted.

The day was also in aid of the Madiba Buggy (a carefully constructed wheelchair to deal with our resident’s needs)

We have been refurbishing many buggies since. More that R500 000 was raised!

Easter at ERV

Residents at Elvira Rota Village in Bapsfontein held their own show how after Mass, depicting the days leading up to the cruxifiction.

The Easter costumes were amazing with some talented actors!

Ride Joburg

A team of riders cycled the race in the name of Little Eden.

Team Little Eden were fantastic, helping each other along the way.

Funds were raised as the cyclists were sponsored with all finishing the race!

Baking Day at Elvira Rota Village

Residents had the best time recently, whipping up a batch of delicious chocolate cupcakes. With a little help from staff and the ever patient Sisters of the Imitation of Christ, residents had fun mixing the dough, baking the cakes, icing them and then – best of all – tasting them!

Residents at our Domitilla & Danny Hyams Home welcomed spring by spending time outdoors. They enjoyed the cool shade, chatting with their friends and eating ice cream.
The celebrations were made possible by Jiya Govender who shared her first birthday with our residents by donating yummy treats.
