Pause for a moment at our new wayside shrine

Feb 10, 2022 | 2022, News

Recently installed at the entrance to Strilli’s Stroll sensory pathway at Elvira Rota Village is a small wayside shrine. Its purpose is to encourage passers-by to pause for a moment to reflect on the beauty of nature, and to say a prayer of thanks or leave a flower tribute in gratitude for the wonders of God’s creation. LITTLE EDEN acknowledges, and thanks Luigi Slaviero for this beautiful handmade shrine.

Wayside shrines are commonly found in Europe, particularly in the Alpine regions of Germany, Austria and Italy.

The shrines are often placed at a crossroads or at the top of a hill or mountain. They may also be used to mark the place where some memorable incident has occurred.

LITTLE EDEN cares deeply about the spiritual development of our angels, a fundamental area of their holistic wellbeing.

Next time you visit Elvira Rota Village, why not take a walk down Strilli’s Stroll, visit the shrine and take a few moments to acknowledge the graces you’ve received, with a little flower and prayer to our Lord? These few moments provide a therapeutic break from the stresses of everyday life.
