Generosity of the People of Japan

Made possible by a generous grant from the People of Japan, extensive renovations to our Acacia Section, which houses 36 residents with dual diagnosis, were completed earlier this year.
The renovations included improved communal areas – both inside and out-doors – as well as upgrades to the ablution facilities and additional multipurpose rooms to cater for the specialised needs of these residents.

At the official opening of the newly renovated section, His Excellency Mr Ushio Shigeru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People of Japan to the Republic of South Africa, highlighted the long-standing partnership between LITTLE EDEN and the Embassy. In all, the People of Japan have supported over 600 projects in South Africa, prioritising initiatives that enhance basic human needs and security at grassroots level.

LITTLE EDEN CEO, Mrs Xelda Rohrbeck, expressed profound gratitude for the support received from the Japanese Embassy to South Africa, highlighting it as a testament to the value placed on the services and life- long care we provide for people living with profound intellectual disability.
